SYNTHESIS HUB
Main aim of the SYNTHESIS HUB
The main aim of the SYNTHESIS HUB is to integrate the multi-disciplinary data and model outputs generated within the Cluster across temporal scales ranging from days to multi-million years.
Synthesis Approaches
By applying established and developing novel synthesis approaches, the SYNTHESIS HUB generates generalized knowledge on the past and present state, dynamics, and changes of ocean-floor conditions, processes, and biodiversity. In addition, method-oriented projects within the Hub develop new tools for cross-scale and multivariate synthesis.
The SYNTHESIS HUB will apply existing and develop novel synthesis approaches to create generalized information of past and current status and changes in ocean-floor conditions, processes and biodiversity. Method-oriented projects will provide new tools for cross-scale and multivariate synthesis.
Synthesis Working Groups (SWGs)
Leveraging the potential of the Cluster as a hub for the international research community, the SYNTHESIS HUB invites internal and external applications for Synthesis Working Groups (SWGs).
SWGs provide dedicated time and space for collaboration, discussion, and product generation, enabling question-driven synthesis and generalization across disciplines and data types.
Capacity Building and Synthesis Literacy
The SYNTHESIS HUB promotes synthesis literacy by offering dedicated teaching materials and training courses for Cluster scientists.
These activities focus on the planning, implementation, and publication of synthesis projects, and provide clear pathways for achieving impact at the science–policy interface.
