A diving robot is taking on a leading role in the musical “Water World” (“Wasserwelt”), which will be premiered by Theater Bremen in September.

For the play, the authors and directors Felix Rothenhäusler and Jan Eichberg worked with MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen and the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology Bremen to find motifs and ideas to ask what we humans actually know about the deep sea. The result is a musical in which Krebs Nat follows a diving robot from the deep sea into the human world.

The play can be seen on five dates in September and October, with further performances to be announced by the theater.

More information (in German) is available here.

Accompanying “Wasserwelt. Das Musical”, MARUM will be showing fascinating images from the deep sea and two interactive touch stations on the topics of the ocean floor and marine research in an exhibition in the Cafe NOON/Foyer Kleines Haus – also on Open Day at Theater Bremen on Saturday, September 7.
