Together with the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), MARUM operates the information system PANGAEA, which archives and publishes data from Earth system and environmental research.

Partner institutions from biodiversity, ecology and environmental data cooperate in the NFDI4Biodiversity consortium. The consortium is coordinated by MARUM - Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen.
