Functional group MARUM IT
The IT functional group plans, coordinates and operates IT infrastructures for the MARUM Research Faculty at the University of Bremen.
This includes computer clusters and storage systems in the double-digit petabyte range as well as the building, media and network infrastructure of the MARUM I and II buildings and the Center for Deep-Sea Research.
Our expertise includes
- Design and operation of basic infrastructure services such as e-mail and IT security
- Design and operation of mass storage services including federated sync & share solutions in the double-digit petabyte range
- Design and operation of computer clusters (hyperconverged infrastructure and HPC)
- Design and operation of managed IT infrastructure for the Research Faculty (Windows, MAC, Linux)
- Project management
- Expert advice for scientists on IT in the environment of the University of Bremen and the cooperation partners of the Research Faculty MARUM
- Conception and operation of IT infrastructures on research vessels
