Fellows of the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg Delmenhorst took advantage of the stay in the dry dock of the Lloyd shipyard in Bremerhaven to visit the research icebreaker POLARSTERN before its next departure for the Arctic.

In addition to touring the scientific and logistical facilities inside the vessel, participants had the rare opportunity to see the ship below the waterline.

The group was led by Prof. Gerhard Bohrmann.
