Travelling and traffic
Travelling by public transport
You can reach the campus with numerous lines of the Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG), e.g. via the stops Universität Süd, Universität/Zentralbereich, Universität Nord, Lise-Meitner-Str., Wiener Str. (Universität/Science Centre), Celsiusstr., Wilhelm-Herbst-Str. or Linzer Str.. The location of the stops in the campus area is shown on the map.
The following Bremer StraßenbahnAG (BSAG) lines stop at the Universität/Zentralbereich stop: 6, 21, 22, 28, 31.
It is best to travel to the stop "Universität/Zentralbereich" or to the final stop "Klagenfurter Straße". From here you can reach MARUM in a few minutes on foot.
Travelling by train
Plan your journey with Deutsche Bahn to Bremen main station. Leave the main station heading south (city centre). Taxis, buses and trams leave directly from the station forecourt. You will pay approx. 15 euros for the onward journey to the University of Bremen by taxi. It is cheaper by tram: take line 6 in the direction of the University(see public transport).
Travelling by plane
The onward journey from Bremen Airport (BRE) to the University of Bremen by taxi costs approx. 25 euros. Tram line 6 runs directly from the airport to the university(see public transport).
Travelling by car
If you are coming from the A1 motorway, change to the A27 at Bremer Kreuz in the direction of Bremen-Bremerhaven. Leave the A27 at the Universität / Horn-Lehe exit and drive towards Centrum/Universität.
There are plenty of parking spaces on the campus and in the University Technology Park. The car parks of the University of Bremen are subject to a charge. Some of the parking fees (1.00 Euro per day in the outdoor car parks and 1.50 Euro per day in the underground car park) must be paid at the entrance. Payment can be made in cash (it is best to pay appropriately, not all machines give change) or cashless with a debit card.
