Partnerships
The tasks in marine research are so large and challenging that they can only be tackled by the joint efforts of several research institutions. MARUM therefore cooperates very closely with other marine research institutions, both nationally and internationally.
Our regional network of partners includes the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven (AWI), the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen (MPI), Senckenberg am Meer in Wilhelmshaven (SGN), the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research in Bremen (ZMT) as well as the University of Oldenburg and the private Constructor University in Bremen.
We are founding member of the Konsortium Deutsche Meeresforschung and the Deutsche Allianz Meeresforschung. With these alliances, we intensify cooperation in marine, coastal and polar research as well as networking between university and non-university based marine research.
Our network of international partnerships is based on diverse and long-standing collaborations between our researchers. For our partnerships with international institutions and programs, we always strive for active scientific collaboration encompassing several researchers.
