New developments in marine technologies and marine robotics were the topics of the advisory board meeting of the Gesellschaft für Maritime Technik (GMT) at MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen. On the main topic of carbon storage, Prof. Achim Kopf from MARUM gave a lecture on “CSS capture and storage of CO2 and the potential for marine technology”, followed by an intensive and lively discussion.

The advisory board members also took a tour of MARUM with Prof. Ralf Bachmayer and Dr. Matthias Zabel to learn about the infrastructure and large-scale marine equipment. MARUM is also home to the current Cluster of Excellence “Ocean Floor – Earth's Unexplored Interface”.

As an association, GMT and its members represent important economic and scientific sectors in maritime technology.
