Bremen ECORD Summer School

MARUM and the Bremen Core Repository (BCR) at the University of Bremen offer a unique opportunity for bringing namely early career researchers in touch with scientific ocean drilling at an early stage. They will be informed about the exciting research within the scientific ocean drilling programs (DSDP, ODP, IODP1, IODP2, IODP3), which have been proven to be the longest running and most successful internationally collaborative research programs in the history of Earth sciences, as they will be prepared for participation in future scientific ocean drilling expeditions as well as in the new format of legacy projects (SPARCs).

Such training will be achieved by undertaking a “shipboard simulation” where the summer school participants will get familiarized with a wide spectrum of state-of-the-art analytical technologies and core description and scanning methods according to the high standards of the core-flow on scientific ocean drilling expeditions, offshore and onshore.
