Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will be held at the Restaurant Ratskeller in the historical city center of Bremen on Wednesday, September 10th, from 7 to 10 pm. All participants are invited!

The Ratskeller is also known as the "delicious foundation of the town hall." Bremen's Ratskeller bears this nickname for a reason. The vaults below the marketplace are not only home to one of Bremen's most traditional gastronomies but also the world's largest assortment of exclusively German wines. As part of Bremen's town hall, the Ratskeller is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, impressing with its over 600-year-old history.

We will dine in the 'Hauff Saal', which was named after the Swabian poet Wilhelm Hauff, who sat under the town hall in 1826 and wrote “The Fantasies in the Bremen Ratskeller”. The famous artist Max Slevogt later immortalized the stories in frescoes on the walls.

The Hauffsaal is also known as the “Echosaal” or “Whispering Hall”, as it is said that conversations that are whispered on one side of the room can be heard clearly on the other side without those sitting in the middle being able to understand.
